If you have more keys it probably won't work, the shackle next size up is too bulky. If you have less keys you might be able to find some washer/spacer in the same isle. I use a 3/16" anchor shackle from Home Depot that cost less than $3. If you are looking for a solution to prevent keys from jingling. The Victorinox badge is glued on and will come off eventually, then it looks even more minimal. It's very well designed IMHO: you can hook it to the waistband of your pants even if you don't wear a belt it's way sturdier than hooking a carabiner to a belt loop, which could break off depending on the quality of your pants and putting it on and taking it off is effortless and can be done by feel without looking. The belt clip itself is stainless steel and will last forever. Throw that away and either attach your keys directly to the ring or find other solutions (see below). The carabiner thingy at the end that holds the keys was garbage, it was made of some soft metal that stretched overtime. If you are looking for a solution to tether keys to your body, I use a Victorinox Belt Hanger.
Not sure what material the Leatherman is made of but it seems high quality and it is not covered in a thin layer of paint that comes off and looks tacky. I put my key rings through the hex slot on the Leatherman and that secures them to it where they won't fall off.Īlso, every regular Carabiner I've found in store is aluminum with cheap paint that scratches off very easily and looks like shit in a matter of days of use.
Kind of defeated its purpose for me which was to keep track of my keys. More than a few times I opened the latch to unhook the Carabiner from my pants and a key ring fell off. (I have separate key rings for work, home, etc). I'm sure I'll get flamed by everyone who thinks it isn't minimal but remember that everyone has their own definition of the term.īefore I was using a small Carabiner and the key rings were loose on it. It feels durable and looks stylish and minimal imo. Just bought one of these and I'm very happy with it.
